This was my final from the drafts of Newsworthy Phase 2-3. I developed my final draft by adding a lot more detail to the hand and chess piece. I was able to print on newspaper-like paper so I restructured my article so it was able to fit my piece aesthetically. I wanted to show the defeat of the queen and the hand represents the people who created the law banning transgender women from competing in chess events. The colors on the chessboard represent the trans flag and how they are being "played" on.
