Community Event Flyer

The Mackinac Art Council commissioned this piece for a community event that they held in July. I was given minimal artistic direction besides including all the information shown and their logo. I wanted to emulate the band's country twang while still keeping it colorful and summer-themed. I pulled the colors from the logo and developed the images such as the microphone, banjo, and cowboy boot in Illustrator. There was a lot of text given to me so I made sure it didn't appear crowded or boring. I used two typefaces to keep that cleanness and then built some of them out adding drop shadows or textures. This helped with visual weight and where I wanted the audience's attention to go.
